Depending on the value of the order, QBD may elect to send parcels using eParcel, at QBD's own expense.
Shipping costs are locked in at time of purchase. Customers can choose to split their orders so available stock ships immediately. They will need to send this request via email and extra delivery fees may apply.
Occasionally, QBD may elect to split customer orders. Customers will be advised of this via email . In these cases, any extra delivery fees will be covered by QBD The Bookshop.
What is standard shipping?
Standard shipping is a service offered by Australia Post, that does not require a signature. Standard shipping is available to any postal address that Australia Post services. The following is taken from Australia Post, explaining their policy;
Parcel deliveries begin at 7am every business day and end at 5pm. During the peak periods Australia Post may even attempt deliveries on Saturdays. They'll make every attempt to deliver your parcel personally. If receiving a standard parcel and you are not home, Australia Post will look for a "safe drop" location, and a notification card will then be dropped in the addressee's letter box, letting them know of the safe drop location.
If a safe location cannot be found, their delivery driver will leave a note to let the customer know which Australia Post retail outlet they can collect their parcel from and the time that it will be available for collection.
What is eParcel?
eParcel follows the same delivery path as standard shipping, only a signature must be obtained. If you are not home, their delivery driver will leave a card to let the customer know which Australia Post retail outlet they can collect their parcel from and the time that it will be available for collection.
eParcels also come with unique barcodes allowing the parcel to be tracked.
QBD sent my order on x date, but I have not received it. What happens now?
For eParcel deliveries, please contact us. Usually these parcels will be waiting for pickup at the nearest Post Office. If no one is home to sign for the item, Australia Post will leave a card to let the customer know which retail outlet they can collect their parcel from and the time that it will be available for collection.
If the card has been misplaced, we can find the details for you. Please contact us if this occurs.
For Standard parcels please enquire at your local Post Office. If "safe drop" was not appropriate, and a card has been misplaced, the parcel will in all likelihood be awaiting collection there. You can contact Australia Post on 13 POST (13 7678).
If it has been at least two weeks since dispatch, and Australia Post has not given you a satisfactory resolution, please contact us. In the unlikely case that a parcel becomes "lost" in transit - QBD may replace the item, subject to our own investigations and discretion. All enquiries need to be made in a timely manner to ensure that action can be taken.
Can you Express Post an item for me?
We can. For all in stock items we can even ship them on the same day. Please contact us on (07) 3291 7444 before 12pm (AEST), and we can have it sent it that days mail.
Delivery times for Express Delivery within Australia should be within 1 - 2 working days (The Express Post zone covers most cities. We can let you know when you contact us). It is Online Store policy to charge the exact amount Australia Post charges us, therefore Express Post can vary greatly depending on weight and destination.
Delivery times vary for Standard Delivery within Australia. If the product or all the products you have ordered are in stock, the order will most likely be dispatched that day. Products that are In Stock usually ship the same business day or the next. The reason it states 2-4 days for shipping In Stock items is if it was ordered on a Friday after the mail cut off, it would not ship until the Monday.
Delivery times for Express Delivery within Australia should be within 1 - 2 working days (depending on the destination. Most major cities & towns are included in the Australia Post Express Parcel zone. Those sent outside the zone are treated as priority deliveries). If you would like to have you order sent by express post, please contact us to arrange this. It is Online Store policy to charge the exact amount Australia Post charges, therefore Express Post can vary greatly depending on weight and destination.
Delivery times for Outside Australia vary greatly and should be given up to 2 months to arrive. This is due to overseas delivery services and customs.
All deliveries will be executed in accordance with Australia Post's "Delivery Timetable For Parcels" Schedule.
