About the Author: Derek Landy

Derek Landy is the author of the popular children's series Skullduggery Pleasant.

His first book, Skulduggery Pleasant, won both the Bord Gais Energy Irish Book of the Decade Award and the Red House Children's Book Award. His second title in the series, Playing With Fire, also won an Irish Book Award for Children's Book of the Year. However he states that his third book, The Faceless Ones, is his mother's personal favourite.

He lives in Ireland with a variety of cats, a German Shepherd, and two Staffordshire Bull Terriers who keep piddling on his kitchen floor because they think it's funny.
