About the Author: Maggie Alderson

Maggie Alderson

Maggie Alderson was born in London, brought up in Staffordshire and educated at the University of St Andrews. She has worked on nine glossy magazines and two newspapers and was editor of ELLE in London and Mode in Sydney. She is now a senior writer with The Sydney Morning Herald and her weekly column 'Style Notes' appears in the Good Weekend. 'At last we've found her, the female Seinfeld. Warm, witty, wise and well-dressed, Alderson is the haute couture of humour.' Kathy Lette.

She has written five novels, and co-edited three books of short stories for the charity War Child. Most recently she co-edited an absolutely filthy book of rude stories, with her writer pals Kathy Lette, Jessica Adams and Imogen Edwards-Jones.

Maggie lives in Hastings Old Town on the south coast of England, with her husband and six-year old daughter, but she does move around a lot.

She has about 150 pairs of shoes and is currently writing another novel.
