For as long as she can remember, Katie has loved reading. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. Despite her love for novels, she didn't think of writing them until she was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software. I originally bought this book because of it's sub-heading 'for fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. I loved that show and was always a fan of it's dry witt and intellegence and nothing since Buffy has seemed to come close to providing the same amuesment. But this one comes real close! Allie is not your average vampire story heroine, with funny looking eyes and a stumpy leg she seems a lot more 'real' than most of your other blonde, busty, unnaturally gorgeous type female leads. And the fact that this sexy, god-like vampire male can be so utterly taken by your less than average joe & that the story doesn't start off as your run of the mill 'love at first sight, staring at each other across the darkened room' love story makes for a very interesting read. For those who like to fantasise about that sexy male character coming into their own lives to steal them away, the 'average-ness' of Allie makes you believe it really COULD happen to you! In short, couldn't put it down! Five thumbs up!
