A Discworld Omnibus: The Rincewind Trilogy: Sourcery, Eric, Interesting Times by Terry Pratchett, ISBN 9780575072367

> Fiction Books > Science Fiction / Fantasy Books

Rincewind is a wizard. At least, he is generally referred to as a wizard. He is tall, thin and scrawny, with a raggedy beard that looks like the kind of beard worn by people who aren't cut out by Nature to be beard-wearers.

"To call his understanding of magical theory "abysmal" is to leave no suitable word to describe his grasp of its practice," said one of his tutors at the Unseen University. He does have an innate gift for languages and can shout "Don't kill me!" and be understood in a hundred different countries. He is also good at practical geography, which means he always knows exactly where it is he is running away from.

'The Rincewind Trilogy' is a bumper volume containing the complete text of:

'Sourcery'
A sourcerer is born - a wizard so powerful that by comparison, all other magic is just mucking about in pointy hats. And his very existence brings the Discworld to the brink of all-out thaumaturgical war. (A bad thing) All that stands in the way is Rincewind . . .

'Eric'
Eric is the Discworld's only demonology hacker. Pity he's not very good at it. Instead of calling up a nice tractable demon, he gets Rincewind and the extremely intractable Luggage . . .

'Interesting Times'
Mighty battles! Revolution! Death! War! (and his sons Terror and Panic, and daughter Clancy). And all that stands in the way of terrible doom for everyone is Rincewind . . .

A Discworld Omnibus: The Rincewind Trilogy: Sourcery, Eric, Interesting Times by Terry Pratchett

About the Author: Terry Pratchett

Terry Pratchett

Sir Terence David John Pratchett(born 28 April 1948) is an English novelist, known for his frequently comical work in the fantasy genre. He sold his first story when just 13, and made enough money to buy a second hand typewriter, and has since gone on to be published into 33 languages and has sold more than 45 million books.
Terry worked as a journalist, among other jobs, until he turned to writing full time in 1987. He published the first of his Discworld series in 1983, The Color Of Magic. As far as contemporary English-language satirists go, Terry is one of the most highly regarded, and has won several awards, including being knighted in 2009, and has had bestowed no less than four honorary doctorates from UK Universities.
Pratchett has suffered with ill health from the mid 2000's but remains optimistic stating he'll be right "for at least a few more books yet".
