The focus of this book is the front-line soldiers from around the world who fought the great campaigns of history, from the hoplites of Ancient Greece to the US Marines in action in the Gulf War. For each of the warriors featured there is a vivid account of their daily life, training, and methods of fighting. There are also special features on the kit they carried and the weapons they used.
