This book follows the success of the author's first book 'Pure Breed Poultry Raising', from which there was strong feedback showing the need for a book dealing specifically with the breeding of individual breeds of poultry found in Australia. In response to this feedback, the author has used his own knowledge, extensive research and long hours of discussion with many specialist breeders to draw together material for this book. His considerable teaching experience has been used to organise this vast amount of material in a compact but thorough presentation of the topic.
Each breed dealt with is treated in a consistent fashion of relevant breed history, positive features to look for, negative features to avoid and selected breeding hints. This is backed up with a silhouette outline of both the male and female to establish clearly in the reader's mind the desired type for each breed.
