When a decomposed body is found in the flat of a disturbed woman called Michelle Doyce, the police call in psychotherapist Frieda Klein. They need Frieda to help Michelle identify the corpse. But the name Frieda retrieves is that of a master conman whose victims turn out to be as numerous as the possible motives for his murder. Now Frieda is helping the police work out who among them is lying or telling the truth as they draw closer to the killer. But the murderer is determined to stay free - and will do anything to keep that way . . .
