In Loving Memory

'In loving memory' is a new collection of poetry and writing on that most difficult of subjects: the death of someone dear to us.

Selected by author Sally Emerson, this wide-ranging anthology offers a wealth of suggestions for funerals and memorial services, as well as poems to offer comfort, support and peace of mind. The sections in this collection focus on the many emotions that a death can bring: there are poems that deal with grief and rage, parting and remembering, thanking and finding peace. Here too are poems of inspirations, ones that celebrate the power of love, and others that simply say goodbye. Included are selections from the Bible and The Prophet, much loved poets such as Tennyson, Wordsworth and Blake, as well as more recent works: excerpts from Captain Corelli's Mandolin, for example, and Auden's 'Funeral Blues', famously used in Four Weddings and a Funeral.
