A typical Indian meal is likely to consist of several main dishes, plus a range of extras: pakoras or samosas, rice or bread, salads, yoghurt dishes, chutneys and pickles. While dishes may include meat, seafood or poultry, we can thank India's large vegetarian population for the many delicious options based on lentils, seasonal vegetables and paneer.
