Matilda Wormwood's father thinks she's a little scab. Matilda's mother spends all afternoon playing bingo. And Matilda's headmistress Miss Trunchbull? Well, she's the worst of all. She is a big bully, who thinks all her pupils are rotten and locks them in the dreaded Chokey.
As for Matilda, she's an extraordinary little girl with a magical mind - and now she's had enough. So all these grown-ups had better watch out, because Matilda is going to teach them a lesson they'll never forget.

"Matilda" was a surprisingly good read with a humorous voice, an incredibly intelligent protagonist who loves to read, a horrid antagonist and some great friendships.
A recommended read to all ages, especially if you have seen or are going to see one of the adaptations. Dahl’s narrative voice is certainly one I will be exploring further. - Melissa (QBD)
One of Roald Dahl's most beloved books, Matilda tells the story of an extraordinary child faced with pretty unremarkable circumstances. This children's classic is filled with excitement, bravery and adventure and is a great read for children of all ages. This is an excellent book that I would highly recommend. - Camille (QBD)
