If you enjoy fantasy based epics then Magician is the book for you. If I could only take one book to a desert island this would be it.

Magician
The first installment of an epic fantasy series which has stretched over 30 years. Feist was my gateway to many other fantasy authors, it has a plot which is not overly complicated containing classical fantasy elements with a twist. Magician is relatively fast paced when compared with other fantasy novels so it really is an ideal book to introduce the fantasy genre while having enough substance to satisfy fantasy enthusiasts. Magician
When I first read Magician in my early teens, I wondered how long it would be before it was turned into a TV series, or an epic movie. More than 10 years on, we've have Lord of the Ring, we've had Game of Thrones, yet still I wait for Magicians time in the cinematic spotlight. Author Raymond E Feist has spun a wonderful fantasy tale involving knights, elves, dwarves, castles, kingdoms, magicians of course, and surprisingly, an alien invasion. Get any images of ET or UFOs out of your mind these invaders have used magic to come from another kingdom. Its certainly one of the more unique aspects of the novel that takes the characters on some unique individual journeys. Magician is certainly more PG than a lot of other fantasy books out there. I find it skips on the gory details of death and injury. Still, this is a fantastic read that I'm more than happy to revisit at any point in my life. A great story for any lover of the genre.
