Adrian hates ferrets. They stink. They're ugly. And they have sharp teeth. But the classroom has a pet ferret (part of a school project) and everyone has to take it home for the weekend. Adrian is dreading his turn. He's a little scared of Ferret - although he'd never admit it. The weekend starts disastrously: Ferret escapes and runs loose in the house, scaring the living daylights out of Adrian and his mum. Then they wash him and he smells even worse. And finally, he escapes on a family cinema outing and causes chaos. But as the weekend progresses, Adrian finds himself becoming quite fond of Ferret and his strange ways, and when Adrian and his best friend Luke are terrorised at their favourite skate park by the JJs (a gang of school bullies), it is Ferret who saves the day.
