Other People's Houses is an unsettling thriller exploring grief, obsession, and lies. Kate, dealing with the loss of her son, stalks open houses looking for semblances to her dead son. One day she comes across the perfect house, which the perfect family moves into, and fascination quickly turns to obsession. Kate is a damaged, unreliable, often cringeworthy narrator who is horrifically relateable even as she slips further and further into her obsession. The writing itself is a little clunky at points but overall clean and fast-paced with just enough humanising moments thrown in to remind the reader that Kate, while making terrible choices, isn't a bad person. Great read! - Laura (QBD)
