This haunting poetry ranges wide in subject and setting but is linked by a prevailing tone which is one of its strengths. Lee Cataldi draws images from urban life as well as from her experiences living and working with the Warlpiri to contrast the daily activities of white and black women. She successfully counterpoints fine observation and underlying myths.
