Fenn survives a plane crash in which his parents die. Sent to live with a geologist aunt in a distant, mountainous part of the world, he wanders off and has a fall. Rescued by Arkon, a Yeti, and taken to the Yeti kingdom, Fenn recovers and learns to live a gentle, Yeti life. Some of the Yeti are against Fenn staying in their kingdom since humans have always sought to destroy them. Through Fenn, the Yeti survive when a fatal disease - not suffered by humans - threatens to make them extinct.
