In this book the world of animals is illustrated in embroideries chosen from the outstanding Nowotny Collection in Vienna.
These original patterns portray, in beautiful colours, a variety of embroidered pictures including dogs, cats and domestic animals, as well a wild beasts, hunting scenes and exotic birds. In addition to the outstanding colour photographs, new black and white patterns are included, based on the originals, which will enable today's embroiderers to reproduce these historic designs.
