Founded in 1981 by artistic director Olivier Massart, La Mode en Images has created some of the most innovative fashion shows and multimedia cultural and special events for the world's biggest names in fashion and luxury, including Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Moet and Chandon, Guerlain, Christian Dior, and Cartier. The creator of many runway extravaganzas for Fashion Week in Paris, Milan, New York, and elsewhere, La Mode en Images has also masterminded many other memorable global events, including ceremonies for the FIFA World Cup and the Eiffel Tower centennial. 'Architect of Dreams' reveals the creative process of one of the most inventive minds in the fashion and luxury industries, from fantasy to reality. AUTHOR: Fashion historian Jeromine Savignon is the author of several books, including Azzaro (2011), Jacques Fath (2009), Jean-Louis Scherrer (2007), and Cacharel: Le Liberty (2002), all published by Assouline, as well as Saint Laurent Rive Gauche: La Revolution de la Mode (La Martiniere, 2011), Michael Jackson par Arno Bani (Du Chene, 2010), and L'Esprit Vionnet (Universite de la Mode, 1994). Savignon has also written numerous articles for exhibition catalogs and other essays, including "A bas le Ritz? Vive la rue!' La naissance de l'esprit rive gauche" (for the exhibition Yves Saint Laurent at the Petit Palais, 2010); "Dior: La passion creatrice" (for exhibition at the Musee du President Jacques Chirac, Sarran, 2010); 'Portrait-souvenir' de Madeleine Vionnet par Jacques Griffe" (for the exhibition Madeleine Vionnet, puriste de la mode, Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Paris, 2009); "L'image revelee, signature d'une marque" (in La Mode des sixties: l'entree dans la modernite, Autrement, 2007); the preface to the catalog for the exhibition Paul Poiret at the Hotel Drouot in Paris, 2005; "Et B.B. crea? la mode Vichy" in Jim no. 6: Vichy toujours (Bleu Autour, 2004); and, in collaboration with Olivier Saillard, "Le sport et la mode," for the Encyclopeie du sport (2002). Journalist and critic Gilles de Bure contributes to publications as diverse as Actuel, Beaux-Arts, City, Cree, Les Nouvelles Litteraires, Le Matin de Paris, Technikart, and Vogue. He publishes articles, columns, and in-depth reports in various magazines (Air France, Keith, Numero) and writes the architecture column for Journal des Arts. He has authored some thirty books on the arts (Des murs dans la ville), architecture (Jean Nouvel, Dominique Perrault, Christian de Portzamparc, Bernard Tschumi, Claude Vasconi, Architecture contemporaine mode d'emploi), design (Radi Designers, Ettore Sottsass Junior, Roger Tallon), and illustration (L'Age d'or de l'illustration de magazine, Guy Bourdin), and has contributed to ten collective works. A curator of many exhibitions, he opened the Galerie d'Actualite,an exhibition space for recent works, at the Centre Pompidou, and served as the first director of the Grande Halle de La Villette. 200 illustrations
