Part love story, part war story, Captain Corelli's Mandolin is a modern epic set on an idyllic Greek island which is being torn apart by Nazi occupation. Over 17 hours on just two MP3-CD's.
It is 1941 and Captain Antonio Corelli, a young Italian officer, is posted to the Greek island as part of the occupying forces. At first he is ostracised by the locals, but as a conscientious soldier, whose main aim is to have a peaceful war, he proves to be civilised, humorous - and a consummate musician. When the doctor's daughter's letters to her fiance go unanswered the working of the eternal triangle seems inevitable. But can their fragile love survive the war of bestial savagery as the lines are drawn between invader and defender?
