'With great care, Thom lifted Gregory's feet out of the stirrups and set them on the floor. Gregory was spent. The Australian body builder lifted him gently, his own aching muscles bulging as he helped the shapely Rastaman to the floor. The two men hugged and, somehow, a little of Thom's strength passed into Gregory's body.'

"That was something else, man. You're something else." Gregory said eventually. "So are you," Thom said softly, his voice catching in his throat as he replied.

London, mid-1990s. Malcolm, Don and Gregory are members of drum 'n' bass outfit The Boot Sex Massiv. But, from Soho to the Gate, the city's full of tender career distractions: like Thom, the muscular Aussie surfer, and Kam, the sexy Japanese student who's looking for a home from home. Not least, there's the capacious Prince Fela, African aristocrat and legendary party host, and his manservant Camara. But ultimately the lithe young men each learn that real respect can be found closer to home, in the arms of a man who's not just a funky buddy.
