Marion Jones has always been destined to be a champion. In 1985, she wrote the following in a sixth grade essay: "My hobbies are running and gymnastics. I like running because I can beat almost everyone at my school. My plans for the future are to be in the Olympics. I've been training a lot and the boys in my school are good practice."

Jones is now the most famous and most visible female athlete in the world. She is the first woman to win five Olympic medals at one Olympic Game. This is the story of how as a little girl she set her sights on gaining an Olympic medal and how she overcame numerous obstacles to achieve this success.
