This is my most favourite book of all time. The writing, the world-building, the characters and the magic; it's all so perfectly crafted and represented in Kristoff's customarily cynical and extravagant style. Such an incredible piece of fantasy literature.
A violent and exhilerating revenge story following the cutthroat and fallible femme fatale, Mia Corvere. Mia participates in a murderous competion to become an assassin of the Red Church in the hopes to avenge her family. A dark and fearless fantasy that doesn't hold anything back. If Arya Stark had a solo story this would be it. - Orah (QBD)
Mia calls to darkness and darkness calls to Mia. Babtised in the death of her family at the age of 10, all Mia has left is her revenge and the shadow cat who never leaves her side. Joining the Red Church may be the only way to get her revenge, but it may also be the quickest way to a painful death.
Will Mia control the darkness within to control the darkness without? - Hayley (QBD)
Jay Kristoff weaves an incredible tale of murder, heartbreak and revenge. His unique storytelling conjures vivid images and I fell so easily into this new world. Never have I read an author so adept at misleading his audience and creating a truly unpredictable plot. This is one of my all time favourites and my go to recommendation for fantasy fans. - Leesa (QBD)

I cannot recommend Nevernight highly enough.
A high fantasy featuring blood, death, violence, gore, sass, explicit scenes and what is essentially an assassin training school, Nevernight is a heap of fun with several unexpected plot twists.
The writing itself is fantastic – setting aside the footnotes, which get progressively more sassy and less full of world building as the story goes on – from the first chapter I found the writing engaging and extremely clever.
Surprisingly enough, I read Nevernight before I’d been exposed to any hype. I knew Jay’s writing from Illuminae so when I saw a poster advertising the book launch for Nevernight I decided to give it a go – and I’m ridiculously glad I did. - Melissa (QBD)
There are no words to describe how unique and spell binding this book was. First book I've read by Jay Kristoff and I can confidently and wholeheartedly say that it will be no where near the last. 10/10 - Hannah (QBD)
