By turns hilarious and sweetly nostalgic, but always hugely entertaining ... one of Australia's favourite and most multi-talented entertainers lifts the lid on life on-screen and off with not so longing looks back at growing up in the burbs in the decade taste forgot.

Before I had children I thought motherhood would turn me into a cross between Mother Theresa and Edmund Hilary - noble, heroic, good-hearted and selfless. Yeah right. For better or worse, I'm still me.

Hilarious and often moving, Natural Born Keller is the story of Amanda Keller's life from her childhood in Brisbane and Perth to her daggy teen years in the Sydney 'burbs, college dramas, love, romance, marriage, her struggle to get pregnant and the joys of having two sons, right through to being 'waxed' for Madame Tussauds.

Amanda blows the lid on the Colditz-like atmosphere of Simon Townsend's Wonder World! the joys of working with Ray Martin on The Midday Show, travelling all over the world for Beyond 2000 (with minimum scientific education and no sense of direction). She also talks about the delight of acting in Swift and Shift, the fun and games of Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation and the joy of co-hosting The Living Room.

According to Amanda there's no other job like radio and she gives us the skinny on the fun and hijinks she had working with the likes of Andrew Denton and Mikey Robbins to taking the piss, laughing and squabbling with Brendan Jones.

Packed with nostalgic memories and witticisms and told in Amanda's classic self-deprecating, light-hearted way, Natural Born Keller is a total hoot to read whatever your age.

Natural Born Keller
A read that all baby boomers will enjoy. I didn't realise how long Amanda had been in the entertainment industry, and how many projects she had been involved in throughout her career. From wonder world years in the 80s, beyond 2000 in the 90's, to where she is today in our living room. She is truly a humble person, starting each job with "i was lucky enough' to be offered this job, playing down her talent and aptitude. I was laughing at a number of points in the book and occasionally crying uncontrollably in other parts. If you enjoy celebrity biographies, you will enjoy this read. - Karen
