This book is a collection of beautiful patterns from the Taisho and early Showa era (1910s- 1930s). Focusing on the items that appealed to Japanese girls at that time, such as illustrated envelopes of woodblock printed flowers and plants, packaging from sweets and cosmetics influenced by art nouveau and art deco, these vintage patterns symbolise the tastes of Japanese girls who were fascinated with western culture. Additional to the patterns
used on the product, are patterns from a collection by popular designers at that time.
