Ronald Edwards is a well-known Australian folklorist, artist and author. He was born in Victoria in 1930 andcompleted his training at the Swinburne College, Melbourne where he gained a diploma of art. He moved to tropical North Queensland in 1959 and opened an art gallery exhibiting his own paintings until 1981 when he moved to Kuranda to live.
Over the years Edwards has been the recipient of numerous awards for his achievements in folklore and publishing. A prolific artist, his paintings are represented in collections throughout USA, Britain, Japan, Sweden and Australia.
