Steve Vizard

Steve VizardSteve Vizard was born in 1956. After graduating in Arts and law from the University of Melbourne, he practised as a commercial lawyer for 10 years, both in Australia and overseas, before falling into television. He is the co-founder and Chairman of Artist Services, one of Australia's most successful film and television production houses which has produced numerous award-winning shows including Fast Forward, Full Frontal, Big Girl's Blouse, Kangaroo Palace, Simone de Beauvoir's Babies, Seachange and Richard Flanagan's recent film, The Sound of One Hand Clapping. For 4 years he hosted his own national tonight show, Tonight Live, for which he was awarded the prestigious Gold Logie Award. Steve has held Directorships of Film Australia, Telstra, Australian Children's Television Foundation and the Victorian Multimedia Taskforce among others, and is the patron for a number of community foundations, including the Vizard Foundation. In 1997 he was awarded the Order of Australia. Steve has also won many awards, including numerous Logies, AFI and Australian Writer's Guild Awards, and the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for International Humanitarian Services. He is married to Sarah and they have 5 children. Steve Vizard was also an elected delegate for Victoria at the Constitutional Convention
