Love magic rituals are a powerful part of the ceremonial tradition of the Kukatja & Warlpiri people of the Central and Western deserts of Australia involving the singing of secret love songs as well as the painting of special designs onto their bodies or the production of “love objects”.
'Yillpinji: Love, Art & Ceremony' explores these themes through an extraordinary collection of artworks by 15 artists from Balgo Hills, Lajamanu and Yuendumu, among them Bai Bai Napangarti, Helicopter Tjungurrayi and Susie Bootja Bootja Napangarti.
