The story is about the day my purple flying pig called Pete met a contented cow called Carlotta. She was chewing her cud.
Pete made friends with Carlotta. Together they parachuted from a plane in Peru. They walked across fire in Fiji. They ate Peking duck in Beijing. They played hide and seek at Stonehenge.
But, sometimes Carlotta was cantankerous. She'd swish her tail and stamp her hoof. So, Pete flew home. He wished Carlotta were different. When Pete arrived home I was daydreaming. I imagined Pete and me on a secret space mission. Pete was the first pig to walk on the moon!
I said, Hi Pete! He looked upset. Pete told me he didn't want to be friends with Carlotta anymore. I told Pete we like friends for who they are and not what we wish they'd be.
Somewhere, in a grassy paddock Carlotta stood contemplating clouds. Suddenly, a purple pig appeared. It was Pete! He sat on her back and tickled her tummy. Carlotta mooed softly.
Tomorrow, they'll dance the hula in seagrass skirts. Best friends forever!
