It's been four months, and Noa Torson is still on the run. Together with one of the only people alive she trusts, Zeke, she leads vigilante raids to rescue other teenagers who've gone off the grid before they become victims of AMRF's experiments.
Meanwhile, Peter leads the attack from the online front, amassing an army of hackers to collect all the data they need to take down the AMRF corporation. The cops won't trust them. The government is in on it. Peter just wishes he could do something more to help. Then Peter's ex-girlfriend Amanda is diagnosed with the deadly disease, PEMA, and Noa unwittingly falls into a trap, rescuing an orphan girl who isn't all that she seems.
Fleeing to the only safe house they have, Noa and Zeke are devastated to learn that the foster parents Zeke has always trusted may actually have been behind the creation of PEMA. It turns out the disease was an opportunistic scheme that went horribly wrong. Worse still, the AMRF agents have tracked Noa and Zeke here.
In the chaos that follows, Zeke is shot, forcing Noa to leave him behind as she runs for her life. Peter narrowly escapes a failed break-in at AMRF headquarters, and he reunites with Noa, the only person left he can trust. They've never felt more alone or more scared. But they have each other, and they've never been more determined to take AMRF down once and for all.
