The lives of three girls - two African American and one of mixed race - are intertwined through the course of one day in an urban high school. When Leticia hears Dominique say that she's going to jump (i.e. beat up) Trina after school for no apparent reason, Leticia doesn't know whether she should get involved and warn Trina. But as apathy wins out in this realistic portrayal, the lives of two of the girls will be changed forever.
