The story is set in 1415, when fourteen-year-old Jenkin Lloyd leaves his home in Wales to fight for his king, King Henry V of England, at Agincourt in France. At first he is excited - here is his chance to prove himself and his archery skills - but the realities of war, with its death, illness and desperation, soon set in. Thanks to the courage and skill of the English archers, England defeated the French in this history-making victory.
