Allow me to introduce myself. I am a thirtysomething, single male and this book is about what happened to me when I used the Internet to find out if technology could enhance my social, romantic and sexual life. In doing so I rendered useless many of faculties I have spent so many years trying to sharpen. Nine months later, I came up for air.
This, then is the story of my time on the Net: the romantic encounters, the strange tales of those I met along the way, and how I learned everything I didn't need to know about other people's sexual habits.
