When a bomb during an air raid destroys Harry's home and kills his family' he knows that he is all alone in the world and has only himself to rely on. Captivating Reading for All Ages
This may have been written for the Young Adult genre, but as a sixty-something I was engrossed in The Kingdom by the Sea.
It is a journey of discovery, independence and maturity so easy to identify with. The ending was out of the blue..!
Robert Westall was prolific, writing only in his older years and well worth following up.
