Humans aren't on the best terms with gopher snakes. But then again, humans aren't on the best of terms with any snakes. In fact, here's why snakes feel sorry for humans:

They're...

Scaleless

Fangless

Clawless

Nearly furless

Wingless

Venomless

Witless

After being captured by a large and slimy human, Crusher (as she's been named by her captor, Gunnar) is intent on getting away from the tortuous existence inside a human den.

Escape plans become Crusher's main focus while ignoring and biting Gunnar at every opportunity. When those ideas don't work out, Crusher is forced to resort to earning the young boy's trust. As thoughts of freedom and enjoying the outdoors and fresh food seem to be slipping away, an unsuspected friend renergizes Crusher, a mouse, Breakfast, who would ordinarily be the prey of a gopher snake. New escape plans are formed and this time it's a two pet operation.
