The Ethiopian Wolf is one of the world's most endangered species. Afra and Tom go in search of these beautiful, russet-coloured creatures in the remote bal Mountains of Ethiopia, where Afra also hopes desperately to find surviving members of her dead mother's family. Smuggling an abandoned puppy on the journey is typical of headstrong Afra. But far greater troubles lie ahead, for in saving the life of a mother wolf, she is bitten by a rabid dog. . .
