That's what the aliens' special council asked me. Their fingers hovered over the little red button that they only had to press to turn Earth into stardust. I think they thought the people who lived there were like flu germs - insignificant, yet nasty and dangerous - best eliminated!
So Susan, Duncan and I set off back home again, to look for a good reason to keep Earth alive. It certainly wasn't going to be easy!
