This piece of modern pulp fiction shocked some readers of Robb's earlier books when it was first published in 1999, as 'Pig's Blood And Other Fluids', a book containing two other novellas. Some readers recognised that this was an expression of the darker side or Robb's talent, which the careful reader can in fact find in his earlier books.
In the event, 'Pig's Blood' appealed more to younger readers, including many who had not read Robb before. This edition, in a smaller format and with the other novellas deleted, has been designed for this new audience.
