Ex SFPD detective Harlan Donnally has been happily retired and running a small cafe north of San Francisco. But when Mark Hamlin, a defense lawyer with a slimy reputation, is found murdered underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, Donnally is unwittingly pulled back into the fray because Hamlin left specific instructions to call Donnally if anything happens to him....a week before.
Donnally quickly finds himself mucking through years of crimes, drug trafficking, corrupt government officials, and money laundering to unravel this bizzare murder. But as he follows the money to unlock the mystery, racial tensions rise in San Francisco and it becomes obvious that everything is more complicated than it seems.
