Juggling a family and a career has never been easy for Sheriff Joanna Brady. The last thing she needs are two serious crimes in the same week.
One of her deputies has been seriously assaulted and left for dead. Meanwhile, the body of a man is found in the desert, fingers missing. When he is identified as a convicted killer, whose last movements suggest he may have been stalking a young woman, it seems rough justice has been served.
Only Sheriff Brady thinks otherwise. As her department devote themselves to finding the assailant of one of their own, it is left to Joanna to avenge the dead man and find out why he was killed.
