FBI profiler Sophie Anderson is an expert at dealing with gruesome murder cases and psychotic serial killers. Her latest case, however, is like nothing she's ever seen before - the victim has had his throat ripped out, and nobody knows how or why.
Soon the victim is identified as Jun Saito, son of the first Korean Yakuza godfather, and Sophie and her team suspect they've stumbled upon a gangland hit. But Saito has been missing for 15 years, presumed dead, so what made him resurface, and who wanted to make sure he was dead this time?
When Sophie's research uncovers a number of murders with similarities to Saito's death and links to organised crime, she realises she has a serial killer on her hands: a contract killer who is using Kung Fu's Ten Killing Hands, and leaves almost no trace of his actions. And while the FBI have an undercover agent in the LA Yakuza, they still have no idea who ordered the hit, or that another has been arranged.
