The Pornographer's Poem

At sixteen years old, the narrator of Michael Turner's novel catches sight of his neighbours having sex on their back porch. He never intends to film them. The cine camera was a going-away gift from his girlfriend and since she left, he has barely touched it. He uses the zoom, the better to see what is going on. But then the zoom does not work unless the trigger is depressed, and the trigger does not work without film and one thing leads to another . . . until the neighbours' dog joins in and suddenly he has the most outrageous pornographic film ever seen in Vancouver.
