Kiki Carlow, junior editor at Polka Dot Books is over the moon when her boyfriend, Thom, proposes. Happy just to be marrying him, Kiki knows nothing of the world of weddings - but it's a world she'll have to get used to, both for herself, and for Jacki Jones, the super-wealthy and fabulous popstar/actress whose glitzy wedding book she's just been given to work on at Polka Dot.
As both Kiki's and Jacki's weddings get closer, it becomes apparent that Kiki's day may not be everything she's learned to expect from a wedding, being sorely lacking in shoes that cost more than a mortgage, live doves, a vanilla cupcake sculpture... a venue... or even a dress.
